Director Yu Shining Visited Counsellor of Qatar to China

Director of International Liaison Department of the institute visited Mr. Abdulla
Saif S. G. AlKhayarin, Deputy Head of Mission & Counsellor of the Embassy of
the State of Qatar to China on 3 November. They exchanged opinions regarding
bilateral trade under the background of One Belt, One Road initiative.
As a member country of One Belt, One Road, Qatar has rich natural gas resources
and it has developed much in the fields of tourism, culture and education, and
infrastructure. Counsellor AlKhayarin introduced the current status of cultural and
commercial exchange between Qatar and China as a result of the friendship shared
by two countries. He mentioned that, 2016 will be the ChinaQatar Cultural Year.
There will be many cultural activities deepening the friendship among the peoples
at the time. Besides, Qatar welcomes Chinese investment in infrastructure, natural
gas and transportation.
Director Yu agreed with the introduction from Counsellor AlKhayarin. Yu said that,
the institute has accumulated much experience through promoting ChinaAfrica trade
for these years, and now the institute would like to develop bilateral trade with One
Belt, One Road countries using our experience. Counsellor AlKhayarin expressed
that the embassy will be willing to work with the institute in order to promote Qatar
China Trade. Finally, they both agreed on further cooperation with each other.
